The magnificent Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world, was our first destination. Prepare to be amazed by its intriguing interior design. Enter this wonder and take pictures of the world’s second-tallest minaret. This trip will give your Moroccan experience a wonderful beginning.
After there, we’ll drive north to Rabat, Morocco’s capital. We’ll take a tour of Rabat, visiting the city’s most renowned landmarks. From the Hassan Tower, Mohammed V’s Mausoleum, to the historic Udayas Kasbah. We make a pause for lunch before heading to Fes for a pleasant overnight stay in a typical Riad.
We’ll depart early in the morning for Ifrane, a city renowned for its architecture and temperate temperature and situated amidst the Middle Atlas Mountains. We then proceed to Azrou’s cedar forest, which is home to Barbary macaques. We’ll stop briefly here to take some entertaining pictures with these amiable animals. After having some free time for lunch in Midelt, we’ll take in breathtaking panoramic views of the palm palms as we drive into the Ziz valley. From there, we travel to the Sahara Desert via the town of Erfoud, which is rich in fossils.
A sea of sand dunes extends as far as the eye can see as soon as we reach Merzouga. You’ll transition to camels and start an unforgettable journey of nomadic living. There will be a stop along the route to scale a tall dune and take in the breathtaking sunset. A cup of mint tea will be served to you as a sign of hospitality when you arrive at your desert camp. After that, you can unwind in your tent. Under the vast expanse of the starry desert sky, the pulse rhythms of Berber drums and dancing around the campfire bring the desert to life after a delectable dinner.
Following a great breakfast, we depart from the desert. Our first visit is in Rissani, the old capital of the Tafilalet area. A thriving commercial district that comes alive every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday. A typical market with spices, handcrafts, and the sound of merchants reaches out to passerby, asking them to sample their offerings.
We will then go through the Touroug and Tinjdad palm orchards on our route to the Todra Gorges. Climbers will love these imposing red rocks sculpted by the Todra River. Spend some time strolling alongside the river and taking in the breathtaking scenery. We’ll then proceed to the Dades Valley, which is home to lush meadows and red rock formations. We’ll pause for a short while to view the well-known “monkey fingers” rock formations, which have been sculpted by the wind throughout ages. After a busy day of excitement, we finally make our way to your hotel for a relaxing stay.
Today on the fifth of your 4 Days Morocco Tour, we’ll drive Marrakech via many Berber villages and cities as no doubt the first is Kalaat M’Gouna, which is famous for its annual Rose Festival held in May. Locals sell a variety of rose-based items, including rose water, oil, soap, and perfume. Following that, we’ll travel over the thousand-kasbah road, passing through Skoura’s enormous palm plantations. At its center sits the old Kasbah Amridil, a landmark of Berber architecture and heritage.
We then resume our journey, traveling past the iconic Ouarzazate till we arrive at the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. a UNESCO World Heritage Site that has used as the backdrop for numerous films, including Gladiator and Game of Thrones.
